The Department of Management Science was established in March 2000, authorized to award PhD degrees in Management Science and Engineering and in Technological Economics and Management, of which Management Science and Engineering is the key discipline of Fujian Province and Technological Economics and Management is the national key subject under the business administration discipline. The Department has two undergraduate programs: Management Science and E-commerce. The research areas of the Department are: Information System and E-commerce, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Innovation Engineering and Complexity Theory. The Department has established links with several universities in Europe and America for education and research.
The high-level faculty of the Department consists of 18 full time members, among them are 8 professors, 6 associate professors, and 16 of them have got PhD degrees. Some of them have degrees from the overseas universities, others have paid academic visits to the universities overseas. Their background is diverse, integrating interdisciplinary advantages. In recent years, the Department has undertaken more than 10 projects with grants from the National Natural Science Foundation, the National Social Science Foundation, and the Fujian Province Special Major Projects. Their research findings are published in the major international journals and the tier 1 Chinese journals. As an interdisciplinary academic unit, the Department emphasizes a combination of qualitative and quantitative studies in all levels of research and the application of information technology in management, offering scientific solutions for business management.
